Please see the Town Clerk during office hours, or contact the Assessor. 2007 Middle Class STAR Rebate Program: Homeowners who receive the basic STAR exemption on their school tax bills must apply for their rebate checks.  Applications will be mailed to homeowners.  The deadline for filing the application, by statute, was December 31, 2007.   Applications for basic STAR rebates will begin mailing on September 10th.  Please notice when you get your application that you can apply online.  This will make your rebate much faster. In the Town of Knox, if you earn less than $120,000, your rebate will be $410.13. If you earn between $120,000 and $175,000, your rebate will be $307.60. If you earn between $175,000 and $250,000, your rebate will be $205.07. Seniors 65 years or older who receive the enhanced STAR exemption do not have to apply.  These homeowners will get their STAR rebate checks automatically.  There is no deadline for an enhanced STAR homeowner to notify us that he/she did not receive a rebate. Enhanced STAR checks will begin mailing on September 3rd. These checks will be $323.58
